INCLUSIVE HEALTH

Alzheimer Bed

Matrix U24 was created as a solution to assist in the care of patients with psychological problems or dementia. Focused on combating injuries from accidental falls whilst resting, this is an ideal bed for wards of Alzheimer’s and dementia patients.

With pre-defined medical positions, safety features and tools to reduce hospitalisation times, it is a versatile bed, that fulfils the therapeutic requirements of most patients and an indispensable tool for healthcare professionals.

Robust Architecture

Lifting system by trapezoidal arms electrically articulated by 2 Linak linear motors. Lifting stroke 240-780 mm and maximum patient load of 185 Kg.

PORTABLE CONTROLS

Supervisor Control

Located at the foot of the bed and recessed into the footboard of the bed. Selective locks as protection against misuse. Powered by helical cable.

The supervisor control allows the medical positions Trendelenburg, Cardiac Chair, Examination and Back to 30º, as well as the emergency interventions CPR and Shock.

Hand-held Control

Highly shock resistant. Powered by helical cable.

The hand-held control allows you to perform the medical positions of Reversed Trendelenburg, Cardiac Chair, Examination and Rest.

EFFECTIVE PROCEDURES

Medical Positions

Matrix U24 is equipped with advanced bed positioning functions, performing complex and precise movements with the push of a button.

It also incorporates features that facilitate and speed up care delivery, with alarms and stops at key angles, such as bed horizontality.

EARLY MOBILITY

Pressure Ulcer Prevention

The articulation of the mattress platform (back + legs) causes harmful muscular pressure in the abdominal and lumbar areas.

By lifting the articulations, they simultaneously perform a synchronous gliding. This double self-regression of the back and leg articulations causes a decompression and relief of the sacroiliac area, usually a critical point in the development of pressure ulcers.

Self-Confidence

An important factor in reducing the length of hospital stays is the recovery of the patient’s confidence in their motor skills, task aided by features that help to sit without fear of slipping and injury, or to stop the bed being raised when the patient leaves the bed.

A bed designed to improve the patient’s autonomy, giving him/her control of functions such as the Cardiac Chair position to improve the practice of activities and meals or the Rest position for periods of safe sleep.

INFECTION CONTROL

Hygiene Components

The headboard and foot panels are produced in synthetic HDPE Medical, material with great ability to sanitize and disinfect, durability and high resistance to shock. The panels are vertically removable and have lockers for transportation.

The bed board consists of 11 modular components made of PPC plastic or 4 single phenolic (high pressure thermolaminate) components. All the components can be extracted for cleaning using a quick-fit system.

Total Disinfection

The design of the bed was conceived in order to facilitate the cleaning processes. Reducing dirt accumulation points as much as possible.

CONTINUOUS PROTECTION

Fall Prevention

The side guard rails meet the EN 60601-2-52 standard through components with adequate spaces to avoid entrapment of body parts for patients and caregivers. A high vertical cover and wide opening at the foot of the bed prevent the risk of injuries caused by accidental falls and prevent patients from climbing the rails in disorientation episodes.

In addition to the guard rails, the 24 cm bed height and the function lock of the controls provide a safe stay for patients with and without psychological problems.

Selective Lock

The electrical functions of the bed can be selectively deactivated for reasons of functional convenience or safeguarding the patient’s health. The exception being emergency functions, which are not affected by Selective Lock.

Locks are available in the supervisor control. They are indicated by a padlock, blocking all motors that the selected function activates.

URGENT ACTION

Emergency Procedures

Emergency functions such as CPR and Shock are not affected by Selective Lock functions, allowing rapid intervention in any situation.

On the supervisor’s remote control, patients in cardiac arrest or hypovolaemic shock can be helped with the press of a single key.

Manual CPR

The bed has bilateral emergency folding handles in the back section for cardiopulmonary resuscitation manoeuvres.

They are located at the apexes of the back section for easy access and use.

ERGONOMICS AND PROTECTION

Vascular Position

The height of the foot section is adjustable point by point by a rack for manual use.

When combined with Auto Contour and Trendelenburg, it can improve circulation of blood to the heart, a necessary procedure in reducing the risk of hypovolemic shock and after some vascular surgeries.

360° Protection

The corners of the bed are equipped with shock-absorbing discs and fairings with ABS protections.

The rotating wheel supports are also ABS faired, protecting all bed components that are susceptible to knocks.

SAFE TRANSPORT

Special Axle

Matrix U24 has a unique wheel system to obtain a minimum height of 24 cm. All the wheels are fitted with ball bearings and ABS-faired to prevent the accumulation of dirt.

The system includes four Ø100 mm rotating wheels to improve mobility, two of them with central brakes, and two free Ø125 mm rotating wheels to enable the bed to be adjusted in height.

Centralised Braking

Bed equipped with a brake bar at the foot of the bed, with centralised effect and directional lock.

Free upper wheels to allow bed height adjustment.

SMOOTH MOVEMENT

Cable Clip

Power cables damaged by transport is one of the most frequent malfunctions in electric hospital beds.

Matrix U24 is equipped with a convenient portable cable holder to fit on top of the head panel in addition to the reel fixed to the snap-in frame of the same head panel.

Batteries

1.2A/h battery module to keep the bed operational when disconnected from the power supply.

When plugged in, it electronically manages the charging process, making it unnecessary to unplug the power socket once the batteries are charged. Certified with electrical surge protection.
