Features

HEALTH WITHOUT COMPROMISE

Infirmary Bed

Lifting system with trapezoidal arms electrically articulated by 2 linear LINAK motors. The lightness and reliability of this system make Matrix E40 a high-performance bed, ideal for any hospital environment.

Lifting stroke 390-763 mm and maximum patient load of 250 Kg.

Foot control

Used bilaterally, it enables positioning of the bed with free hands for more effective care.

The foot control allows you to perform the medical positions Cardiac Chair and Exam, as well as the CPR emergency position.

INCORPORATED FUNCTIONS

Integrated Controls

Integrated in the upper side guard rails, they are composed of 2 caregiver and 2 patient controls. Activation by GO button and selective locks to protect against misuse.

The caregiver control allows for Trendelenburg, Cardiac Chair, Examination and 30º back medical positions, as well as CPR and Shock emergency interventions.

Precise Angles

The side guard rails incorporate angle gauges, for the inclination of the back section on the headboard side guard rails and for the inclination of the bed on the foot guard rails.

Matrix E40 also incorporates features that facilitate care delivery, such as alarms and stops at key angles, such as back at 30º or bed horizontality.

PORTABLE CONTROLS

Supervisor Control

Located in drawer at the foot of the bed and recessed in the foot of the bed panel. With selective locks as protection against accidental or improper use. Powered by an extendable helicoidal cable.

The supervisor control allows all the positions of the bed as well as buttons dedicated to articulation functions of Shock, Cardiac Chair, Examination and Sleep/CPR.

Hand-held Control

Highly shock resistant. Powered by extendable helical cable.

The hand-held control allows the back, legs and height positions, as well as the reverse Trendelenburg, Cardiac Chair, Examination and Rest positions.

EFFECTIVE PROCEDURES

Endotracheal Intubation

The head end and foot end panels are vertically removable. However, the headboard support structure is fixed to the base, allowing unobstructed intubation. By raising the mattress platform to the Examination position with a single button, removal of the panel becomes unnecessary.

X-Ray Cassette Holder

Matrix E40 has the option of incorporating an X-ray cassette holder in the back section.

The cassette-holder is telescopic and of total extraction out of the back area of the bed, covered by a panel in phenolic (high pressure thermolaminate). It has adjustment rulers for various cassette sizes, brands and models.

EARLY MOBILITY

Pressure Ulcer Prevention

The articulation of the mattress platform (back + legs) causes harmful muscular pressure in the abdominal and lumbar areas.

By lifting the back and leg articulations, they simultaneously perform a synchronised horizontal glide. This double autoregression of the back and leg articulations causes decompression and relief of the sacroiliac area, a critical point in the development of pressure ulcers.

Self-confidence

An important factor in reducing the length of hospital stays is the recovery of the patient’s confidence in their motor skills.

The bed has features designed to help with the design of the split side guard rails, so that only one guard rail is lowered helping in the exit of the bed, or the automatic stop lifting the bed at the time of exit of the patient.

ADAPTATION TO NEEDS

Bed Extension

One-handed adjustable foot panel, allowing for quick and easy extension of the bed.

Telescopic mattress support grid, allowing the extension to be maintained with the articulated foot section.

Support Drawer

The foot panel has an optional, telescopic-opening, retractable linen holder to support the bed changing service.

INFECTION CONTROL

Hygiene Components

The headboard and footboard panels as well as the split side guard rails are made of plastic (Medical HDPE), a material with great hygienic and disinfection capacity, durability and high shock resistance. The panels are vertically removable and have lockers for transportation.

The base consists of 11 modular components made of plastic (PPC) or 4 phenolic panels (high pressure thermolaminate). All the components can be extracted for cleaning using a quick-lock system.

Total Disinfection

The design of the bed has been conceived to facilitate the cleaning process. Reducing as far as possible the points where dirt accumulates.

CONTINUOUS PROTECTION

Night Light

Matrix E60 model has a night light option that facilitates patient orientation in low light environments. Bicoloured light, it changes its colour when at minimum height, thus allowing a quick check whether the bed is in the safe sleeping position.

The night light is activated on the external control of the side guard rails.

Fall Prevention

Side guard rails comply with EN 60601-2-52. They prevent and avoid the risk of injuries caused by accidental falls through high side coverage.

URGENT ACTION

Emergency Procedures

The emergency functions on the supervisor control, namely CPR and Shock, are not affected by the selective function lock, allowing rapid intervention in any situation.

Electrical CPR, when the guard rail, supervisor or stand-by controls are present, it is possible to assist patients in cardiac arrest or hypovolemic shock by pressing dedicated CPR keys, even if the bed has the functions blocked.

Manual CPR

The bed has bilateral quick-folding handles on the back section for cardiopulmonary resuscitation manoeuvres.

They are located at the apexes of the back section for easy access and use.

INCREASED MONITORING

Selective Locking

The electrical functions of the bed can be selectively disabled for reasons of functional convenience or safeguarding the patient’s health, the exception being the emergency functions, which are not affected by selective locking.

Locks are available on the supervisor control and/or on the external side guard rail controls, blocking all motors that the selected function activates.

Zero Gap

Although resistant when locked, the side guard rails carry handles that are easy and quick to operate for the health care provider, but reassure against improper or accidental use.

When folded down, they fold out from under the bed. This allows a stretcher to be placed against the bed and the patient to be safely transferred, facilitates patient entry and exit and does not disturb medical interventions.

EASIER TRANSPORT

TENTE wheels

High quality wheels from the German brand TENTE, Ø150 mm, single or double-band ABS-faired.

Fifth Wheel

System that improves the manoeuvrability of the bed in tight spaces by rotating 360º on a vertical axis.

For movement in a straight line (driving position), the drive is carried out on the brake pedals in directional lock position, making it unnecessary to incorporate a dedicated pedal.

SAFE STOPS

Centralised Braking

Bed equipped with brake pedals, with centralised braking on all 4 wheels and directional lock on one.

Other braking options can be supplied as an option.

Brake Alarm

Available as an option, it is triggered when you unlock the bed without first removing the plug from the building’s power socket.

This function considerably reduces bed maintenance costs.

SMOOTH MOVEMENT

Cable Clip

Power cables damaged by transport is one of the most frequent malfunctions in electric hospital beds.
Matrix E60 is equipped with a convenient portable cable holder to fit on top of the head panel in addition to the fixed frame reel.

Batteries

Beds equipped with a battery system to maintain the operation of the bed when disconnected from the power supply. For long autonomy, we have the option of high-performance lithium battery.

When connected to the power supply, it electronically manages the charging, making it unnecessary to disconnect the power socket once the batteries are charged. Certified with electrical surge protection and anti-static wheel option.
