Features

AFFORDABLE HEALTH

Intensive Care

The simplicity of the solutions that characterise Matrix E50 makes it possible to increase patient accessibility to Intensive Care Units.

With the main features required to care for critically ill patients, such as emergency medical positions, weight monitoring and tools to reduce hospitalisation times, it becomes a bed that meets patients’ therapeutic requirements and an indispensable tool for healthcare professionals.

Lifting System

Lifting system with trapezoidal arms electrically articulated by 2 linear motors (Linak).

Lifting stroke 420-793 mm and maximum patient load 250 Kg.

HANDS FREE

Digital Scales

7” touch screen incorporated in the foot panel. With weighing registration and possibility of recording in memory, thus freeing up health professionals to what really matters – caring for patients.

The scale allows to perform Tare, Zero and Calibration.

Foot Control

Bilaterally used, it makes it possible to position the bed with the hands free for more effective treatments.

The foot control allows you to perform the Cardiac Chair and Exam medical positions, as well as the CPR emergency intervention.

INCORPORATED FUNCTIONS

Integrated Controls

Integrated into the upper side guard rails, they are composed of 2 controls for the caregiver and 2 for the patient. Activation of functions by GO button, allowing a redoubled safety preventing accidental movements, also have selective locks of all functions of the bed.

The caregiver control allows you to perform the medical positions Trendelenburg, Cardiac Chair, Examination and back positioning at 30º, as well as emergency interventions CPR and Shock.

Precise Angles

The side guard rails incorporate angle gauges for the inclination of the back section on the headboard side guards and for the inclination of the bed on the footboard side guard rails.

Matrix E50 also incorporates features that facilitate the provision of care, with alarms, intermediate height stop for transport and key angles, such as back at 30º or bed horizontality.

PORTABLE CONTROLS

Supervisor Control

Optional control located at the foot of the bed and plugged into the bed foot panel. Selective locks as protection against misuse. Powered by helical cable.

The supervisor control allows the medical positions Trendelenburg, Cardiac Chair, Examination and Back to 30º, as well as the emergency interventions CPR and Shock.

Hand-held Control

Optional control, it is portable and highly shock resistant. Powered by helical cable. The hand-held control allows you to perform the medical positions of Reversed Trendelenburg, Cardiac Chair, Examination and Rest.

EFFECTIVE PROCEDURES

Endotracheal Intubation

The head end and foot end panels are vertically removable. However, the head end support structure is fixed to the base, allowing unobstructed intubation. By raising the mattress platform to the Examination position with a single button, removal of the panel becomes unnecessary.

X-Ray Cassette Holder

Matrix E50 includes the option of incorporating an X-ray cassette holder in the back section.

The loading of the cassette is carried out on the side of the bed headboard. The cassette holder is telescopic and fully extractable out of the bed back area. It has adjustment rulers for various cassette sizes, brands and models.

EARLY MOBILITY

Pressure Ulcer Prevention

The articulation of the mattress platform (back + legs) causes harmful muscular pressure in the abdominal and lumbar areas.

By lifting the articulations, they simultaneously perform a synchronous gliding. This double self-regression of the back and leg articulations causes decompression and relief of the sacroiliac area, usually a critical point in the development of pressure.

Self-Confidence

An important factor in reducing the length of hospital stays is the recovery of the patient’s confidence in their motor skills.

The bed has features designed to help in this task, such as the Auto-Contour, which helps to sit without fear of slipping, the design of the railings for support in exiting the bed, or the stop of the elevation of the bed at the time of exit of the patient.

ADAPTATION TO NEEDS

Bed Extension

One-hand adjustable foot panel, allowing the bed to be quickly and easily extended up to 220 mm.

Telescopic mattress support grid, allowing the extension to be maintained with the articulated foot section.

Support Drawer

The foot panel has a telescopic opening retractable support to support the bed changing service and to place the supervisor control in a place less prone to misuse.

INFECTION CONTROL

Hygiene Components

The headboard and foot panels and the split guard rails are produced in synthetic Medical HDPE, a material with great capacity for hygiene and disinfection, durability and high resistance to shock. The panels are vertically removable and have lockers for transportation.

The bed board consists of 11 modular components made of PPC plastic or 4 single phenolic (high pressure thermolaminate) components. All the components can be extracted for cleaning using a quick-fit system.

Total Disinfection

The design of the bed was conceived in order to facilitate the cleaning processes. Reducing dirt accumulation points as much as possible.

CONTINUOUS PROTECTION

Night Light

The night light facilitates the orientation of the patient in low light environments, changing colour when the bed reaches the Rest position, indicating that the patient is properly positioned for a period of sleep.

The Night Light is activated from the external control of the side guard rails and requires the bed to be connected to the building’s electricity supply.

Fall Prevention

Side guard rails comply with EN 60601-2-52. They prevent and avoid the risk of injuries caused by accidental falls through high side coverage and components with adequate gaps to avoid entrapment of body parts of patient carers.

URGENT ACTION

Emergency Procedures

Emergency functions such as CPR and Shock are not affected by Selective Lock functions, allowing rapid intervention in any situation.

Present on the controls of the guard rails, supervisor or standing, it is possible to assist patients in cardiac arrest or hypovolaemic shock, with the press of a single key.

Manual CPR

The bed has bilateral emergency folding handles in the back section for cardiopulmonary resuscitation manoeuvres.

They are located at the apexes of the back section for easy access and use.

INCREASED MONITORING

Selective Lock

The electrical functions of the bed can be selectively deactivated for reasons of functional convenience or safeguarding the patient’s health. The exception being emergency functions, which are not affected by Selective Lock.

Locks are available on the supervisor control and/or on the external controls of the side guard rails. They are indicated by an illuminated padlock, locking all motors that the selected function activates.

Zero Gap

Although resistant when locked, the side guard rails carry handles that are easy and quick for the health care provider to operate, but provide reassurance against improper or accidental use.

When folded down, they fold out from under the bed. This allows a stretcher to be placed against the bed and the patient to be safely transferred, facilitates patient entry and exit and does not disturb medical interventions.

EASIER TRANSPORT

TENTE Wheels

High-quality German brand Tente wheels, Ø150 mm, single or double-band ABS-faired.

Fifth Wheel

System that improves the manoeuvrability of the bed in tight spaces by rotating 360º on a vertical axis.

For travelling in a straight line (driving position), the actuation is carried out on the brake pedals in the directional lock position, making it unnecessary to incorporate a dedicated pedal. Ø150 mm wheel.

SAFE STOPS

Centralised Braking

Bed equipped with 2 brake pedals, at the rear corners of the bed, with centralised effect and directional lock.

As an option, it can be supplied with a cross-brake bar.

Brake Alarm

Available as an option, it is activated when the bed is unlocked without first removing the plug from the building’s power socket.

This function considerably reduces the maintenance costs of the bed.

SMOOTH MOVEMENT

Cable Clip

Power cables damaged by transport is one of the most frequent malfunctions in electric hospital beds.

Matrix E50 is equipped with a helicoidal orange coloured cable and a convenient portable cable holder to fit on top of the head panel. In addition, the cable is fixed to the bed frame preventing damage to the electrical assembly.

Batteries

2.4Ah Lithium battery module to keep the bed operational when disconnected from the power supply.

When connected to the power supply, it electronically manages the charging, making it unnecessary to disconnect the power socket once the batteries are charged. Certified with electrical surge protection and antistatic wheel option.
